Allen joined the Anfield side in the summer of 2013 for £16.7m, following boss Brendan Rodgers from the Liberty Stadium.
The Wales international has failed to find his scoring boots since, managing just one goal in his 51 Premier League outings for the Reds.
But the box-to-box midfielder hopes to get more goals under his belt this season.
The 24-year-old opened the scoring during their 2-0 victory over AC Milan, after missing his initial shot.
He said said: "I should have finished the first chance really but I thankfully got a second chance and put it away.
"It's always something that I'll look to improve on - I need to add more [goals] to my game."
