Borussia Dortmund are on the brink of a knockdown deal forManchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa.

The Daily Mail says Kagawa is set to complete his return to Borusssia Dortmund for £6.3million - just two years after leaving the German side.

Kagawa will sign a four year contract with the Dortmund, who sold the Japanese playmaker to United in 2012 for £12million.

But injuries have stunted the midfielders progress, and after failing to fit into David Moyes' side last season, he has now been deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Louis van Gaal.

Valencia were also interested in the Japan captain, but Kagawa wanted to return to the club where he made his name in European football.

Javier Hernandez can leave Manchester United before the transfer deadline falls on Monday.

The Daily Mail says Juventus and Valencia have made formal offers to United for striker Hernandez.

MAN UTD WILLING TO SEND KAGAWA TO JUVENTUS IN VIDAL SWAP

Manchester United are weighing up using Shinji Kagawa as a makeweight in their deal for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.

The Independent says Kagawa, whom manager Louis van Gaal pointedly declared at the weekend had been incapable of operating in a new designated central position, could possibly be used to secure a breakthrough, with the £32m the Turin side are likely to want seemingly unrealistic.

With AC Milan's Nigel de Jong not on United's list, Vidal appears to be Van Gaal's only option, though the Ajax player Daley Blind - another possible 11th-hour target - can also operate in midfield.

Kagawa is also a target for Peter Lim's Valencia this week.

Mexico's Guardado joins PSV Eindhoven on loan

Mexico international Andres Guardado joined Dutch championship leaders PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday on a season-long loan from Valencia, the clubs said. Guardado moves away from the Spanish side for a second time on loan after spending the second half of last season at Bayer Leverkusen. The 27-year-old winger is a veteran of three World Cups for Mexico and has won 108 caps, playing in all of his country's four matches at the recent finals in Brazil.

Valencia confident over Mustafi

Valencia are said to be confident Sampdoria defender Shkodran Mustafi will choose them over his many suitors.

AS reports the Germany international as catching the eye of Juventus and Milan but Los Che feel they will land the €8m signing.

A report from Gazzetta dello Sport is cited by AS with the claim that the fee will be paid in two instalments.

The World Cup winner is said to be keen on playing in Spain and under new Coach Nuno Santo, who has given his blessing to the signing.

Mustafi would form a new first-choice centre-back pairing at Mestalla, alongside Nico Otamendi.

Valencia, Napoli, Juve for Mustafi

Sampdoria’s World Cup winner Shkodran Mustafi is wanted by Napoli,Juventus, Eintracht Frankfurt and Valencia.

The German international defender had precious few caps to his name before the tournament, but contributed to their victory in Brazil.

“For now he is not for sale, but if someone arrives with a €15m offer then I’ll sell him and bring in 10 players who can become just like him,”President Massimo Ferrero told Secolo XIX on Friday.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the real price-tag is closer to €10m and there is interest from Napoli, Juventus, Valencia and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Sky Sport Italia insists Valencia have the upper hand and have already proposed a €10m bid for the 22-year-old.

It is claimed the Spanish side will meet Mustafi’s representatives later today.
