Manchester United are launching a bid for Fiorentina star Juan Cuadrado.
Sky Italia says United will attempt to beat Barcelona to the 26-year-old's signature by offering Fiorentina £32m for his services.
Earlier this week, Van Gaal refused to reveal any major details over his interest in Cuadrado for fear his price-tag would increase.
"I cannot talk about Cuadrado, because if I say something about him the price will rise," he said following his side's 3-1 pre-season victory over Liverpool.
