Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier believes they'll be okay this season - despite their mass exodus.
There was unrest among Saints fans with all the departures but Le Tissier believes with the new additions there is no danger the club will be relegated, as many predicted in the summer.
"The squad, even with all the departures, has got more than enough quality to stay up," he told the Daily Express. "I've been trying to say that to a lot of people who were thinking panic stations when we were selling these players, and I don't know if they thought that we were just going to sell them and not replace them and just have 12 players in the squad.
"It was always the case that Ronald was going to be given the funds to go out and strengthen. I don't think the club can do any more than that.
"It will be hard to do what we did last year and finish eighth, but they can be more than comfortable and they will finish somewhere around 12th.
"Relegation? Not unless all of the new players fail to gel and fail to get used to playing in the Premier League.
