Sevilla have signed Argentine midfielder Ever Banega
from Valencia, both Spanish clubs said Monday.
According to media reports, the transfer fee for the 26 year-old is
2.5 million euros (3.35 million dollars), which is far less than
Valencia paid Boca Juniors for him as a promising youngster in 2008.
Banega never managed to become the fulcrum of the Valencia midfield,
partly due to a string of serious injuries. He played 136 games for
Los Ches, scoring nine goals.
He is Sevilla's eighth summer signing, after Aleix Vidal, Iago Aspas,
Gregory Krychowiak, Mariano Barbosa, Alejandro Arribas, Denis Suarez
and Gerard Deulofeu.
Ironically, Banega's debut for Sevilla could be against Valencia on
