Croatian midfielder Luka Modric has extended his
contract with Real Madrid until 2018, the European champions said on
Wednesday.
Modric, 28, joined Real from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2012 for a
reported fee of 35 million euros (46.7 million dollars), but
struggled initially to impress in Madrid.
He has become an important player under coach Carlo Ancelotti since
2013, and helped Los Blancos to win the Champions League and the
Spanish Cup last season.
